With our 2013 Blanc de Noir, we are living on the edge to offer you a uniquely brisk style of white wine from our estate Margarita Vineyard. This wine was made from a small block of Pinot Noir picked in the early stages of ripeness. These red grapes were pressed with minimal skin contact to produce a vibrant white- hence the designation Blanc de Noir. The resulting wine is all about hitting the high notes with lively flavors, vibrant acidity and a refreshing finish. Only 50 cases produced.
The 2013 Blanc de Noir offers delicate aromas of honeydew melon, golden apple and sliced almond. Fresh, mouthwatering acidity brings flavors of pink grapefruit and tart white grape with a suggestion of blackberry, all converging into clean, zippy finish.
This wine come from Block 33 at our estate Margarita Vineyard, where a notch in the coastal range invites a pronounced marine airflow, creating conditions that are ideal for growing Pinot Noir.
The fruit was picked at a youthful 19.9 brix, similar to the base pick for sparkling wine. Upon arrival at the winery, the fruit was immediately destemmed and gently pressed, then cold-fermented as a white wine- leaving just a hint of the fruit's red grape origins in the cooler profile.
Food Pairing Notes
