Winemaking Philosophy

Winemaker Mike Sinor takes great care to preserve and accentuate the vineyard’s pure fruit character throughout the winemaking process. Sustainable viticultural practices are employed to nurture the natural essence of the grapes, and hands-on, small-lot methods are used to ensure gentle retention of varietal authenticity and nuance.

The resulting wines are distinguished by their natural dimension, balance and complexity, as well as the striking native flavors of Margarita Vineyard.

Following are the core attributes of our winemaking philosophy:

Estate Vineyards

All of our fruit comes from our family-owned vineyards, and Margarita Vineyard is the centerpiece of our winemaking program. Our ability control all facets of the winegrowing process enables us to maintain the highest standards of quality.

Natural Quality

Margarita Vineyard is SIP (Sustainability in Practice) certified in recognition of the numerous sustainable practices that we employ to ensure natural quality in our wines. We feel that these methods give us the best opportunity to capture and express the authentic personality of the vineyard.

Varietal Authenticity

The exceptional growing conditions of Margarita Vineyard ensure that each varietal achieves optimal ripeness at an ideal pace. The resulting fruit exhibits a true sense of varietal character, and great care is taken to maintain this character during the winemaking process. We believe that varietal character is vital to the enjoyment of our wine.
